“This year’s festival will see presentations, illustrated talks and screenings from °µÍø³Ô¹Ï. I was delighted to host a keynote conversation with B3 Honorary Lifetime Achievement Laureate 2023, Sir Stephen Frears, after speaking at the award ceremony. I have admired Stephen‘s work for over 40 years and have known him as a patron of °µÍø³Ô¹Ï and a friend, presenting his work all over UK and Internationally. Stephen has been involved with °µÍø³Ô¹Ï from its inception, mentoring some of our first cohort of filmmakers, working with the London Filming °µÍø³Ô¹Ïhip and particpating in various panels and events over the years, so it is my absolute pleasure celebrate his work in this way.“

Also during the festival Helena Mackenzie, °µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s Head of Inward Investment & Business Development, presented UPstream: °µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s innovative IP Market, where delegates learnt more about the Market.

°µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s UPstream is an innovative IP Market that facilitates pitches and meetings between IP holders presenting new and exciting IP projects and UK Film and TV production companies, sales agents, distributors and publishers.

Over 15 °µÍø³Ô¹Ï Artists’ Moving Image (FLAMIN) associated films will be screened during the festival, including work from °µÍø³Ô¹Ï Jarman Award shortlists, FLAMIN Animations and FLAMIN Fellowships filmmakers.

Events take place on the two year anniversary of °µÍø³Ô¹Ï and B3 Biennial of the Moving Image (B3) signing a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) in Frankfurt to recognise and enhance the ongoing spirit of collaboration between the two cities, helping to support and cross-promote respective IP and artist filmmaking projects.

Over the last five years °µÍø³Ô¹Ï and B3 have participated together in a series of cultural exchanges, panel sessions, talent showcasing and industry market intelligence. Building upon this existing creative collaboration, the MOU engages in particular with °µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s IP Market UPstream, and works with °µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s Artists’ Moving Image Network (FLAMIN), scoping out opportunities for cross-promotion and pooling knowledge.
